As a non-profit, The Welcome House is more than a place to sleep, it is a home for those that are already homeless or on the verge of becoming homeless.
the need
Did you know that 50% of all the homeless in the United States live in California?

When you speak to someone who has become homeless they will tell you it was a few life changing circumstances or decisions that put them on the streets.

And when someone becomes homeless there is a huge need for more than what a shelter can offer. Shelters are great for providing an immediate place to sleep but they don’t offer resources and guidance which can change someone’s life for the better and get them back on their feet.

The Welcome House changes peoples' lives one home at a time.

There are people struggling, overlooked by society, with no place to call home. People who given a chance, and a couple of resources will turn their lives around.

The Welcome House offers hope through housing, meals, mental health resources, a safe space to detox or heal, and structure to teach them how to re-enter and participate successfully in society.

Imagine what an individual who has been in survival mode can do when given a chance and a little bit of hope.

Homelessness involves many extremely complex life-controlling issues such as domestic violence, sexual victimization, significant mental health and substance abuse disorders, as well as a myriad of debilitating societal and personal patterns of neglect that result in long- term hopelessness.
Combatting homelessness must always involve a deep understanding of each individual’s life in a safe, stable environment that provides respect, encouragement and life-changing hope.
how the cycle of homelessness can be broken

The Welcome House is needed now more than ever. With your help, we can have a larger impact and offer more resources to support a greater number of people as they get back on their feet.

Join our mission to purchase a large group home which will offer more intensive case management.

This would allow us to provide more diverse mental health resources and educational programs. Through our efforts to teach skills or a trade, individuals will be able to reenter the workforce and provide for themselves.
